HELP ME PLEASE !!!!!!

ok we got orders to move to pt. mugu in ventura cali. we are not sure when yet but will know in aug. i am sort of scared what should i expect? are they going to move us or is that wat we do? we are hoping for housing on base. thanks :no:

I would assume they can move you, they moved us from SC. I don't know much about Point Mugu but the area is nice. We are stationed at the other Ventura County Navy base Port Hueneme, so we will only be like 15 min away. I know there are waiting lists for base housing out here and with only 3 of us we only warranted a 2 bd apt so we got a 2 bd apt in town. Hubby will be deploying in Aug so hey maybe we could hang out. Any other questions about the area or anything I might be able to help but we have only been out here since March. Oh I'm Chrystal btw.

They usually move you. They give you a certain amount to spend on moving, and a weight limit per size of your family. Which is MORREEE than enough. lol

And I'd get on the list for base housing now if I was you :)

I grew up in Ventura, CA and I can tell you the area is amazing! The weather will be great all year! (I miss CA so much!) The base is now combined- Pt Mugu and Port Hueneme- so you can live on either base. If I remember correctly, Pt Mugu family housing is pretty nice. It's old ranches, but pretty spacious comparatively, and most have garages. Pt Mugu is pretty far out of town. If you want to live in the community I would recommend Camarillo because that end of Oxnard is not too great. Good luck in whatever you decide! Have fun and enjoy Ventura County you lucky people!

Def go to housing as soon as you have orders(physical,paper orders...not word of mouth) to get on the housing list and arrange moving.
