Are you planning your wedding yourself? Or did you hire someone to help?

Are you planning//did you plan while your fiance is//was gone?

I planned everything for my wedding by myself.....my hubby was on deployment at the time! On top of that we were getting married back in IL where I am from.....it wasn't that hard to get everything done....surprisingly!

My ceremony/reception site were free (it was my SIL's grandparents backyard).

I planned my wedding myself. We had our wedding/reception in a state park and the reception was a pot luck cookout. Everyone brought a dish and we had a great time. It turned out beautifully.

I just had my wedding on May 24th, and planned it in about 2 weeks. It all depends on how big you want the wedding and how detailed you want the events to be. I had help from my mother-in-law, but I didn't have anything huge. It was super small with about 30 people and we had a blast.

Unfortunatley, I didn't get to have a big wedding. We got married at the court house because we didn't have any time to plan a wedding and he was home on leave. But I'm planning it all with my Grandma's help right now. We're going to have a big wedding in 2010. Well that's when we plan on doing it as long as he doesn't go out on deployment. I've always wanted a big wedding and this is my time now.

I got married at the courthouse as well. I just wore a little white summer dress while he wore his whites. I hope to have abigger wedding when we are able to go back home sometime. I am excited to plan! I want to do it myself [wiht my mom of course!]

We did the JOP also.

In light of getting knocked up...plans will change.We were looking to do it in Summer of 2009 between the Navy and Army.But I highly doubt I will be remotely close to my weight now (and I wanted to be way skinnier for my wedding.)

So maybe we'll do it 2010.My Family wants a traditional wedding and so do I.

We did a beach wedding and bought a package...so we like picked out what we wanted but then the lady who married us set it all up on the beach, etc. So...lol

The beach wedding I bet was amazing. We did the JOP & went & took pics on the beach! I loved them but I definately want a bigger wedding later on so my friends and family can come!

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who went to the courthouse and plans on having a big wedding later on. =]

i planned mine on my own with my momma. i took almost 2 years to do it though and i knew exactly when i wanted to get married and exactly where i wanted to get married so that made it alot easier. we got married at the same chapel my parents got married in 23 years before us :) i want to renew our vows for our 5 year anniversary though. i was thinking just taking a nice vacation to somewhere in the caribean or bahamas or something and just doing something real cute and simple on the beach there, just the two of us and the pastor.

We planned it together. I was surprised how involved in it he got. He even made most of the phone calls to reserve places!

I wouldn't go back and not do all the work. It payed off... granted a few things went wrong. But we survived, and it turned out great. hehe

hehe yah. they always worn you, something is going to go wrong, but it will be ok! its good you have that attitude about it so soon after your wedding lol. some girls are traumatized when their wedding doesnt go perfectly.

Well, nothing TOO huge went wrong.... lol But yeah.

1) Cake didn't get delivered because THEY gave us the wrong delievery fee.
2) I was SUPER late because of a series of events.
3) The babysitter LEFT before we got the kids to her after the ceremony wasting our time. Which turned out ok.
4) And my mom was VERY rude to me like the whole afternoon, ruining the first hour of our reception. Which was ok later.
5) The beans were VERY undercooked. lol!

Not TOOO bad. Would I ever become a wedding planner? H***LLLLL no! lol

haha the beans were undercooked. thats funny :) wow, you had a lot of tragedies. the only thing that bugged me is my husbands grandma didnt want to take pictures after the ceremony, she just went straight into the reception area. but i sent someone to get her once and she said no so i was like ok, no pictures with grandma lol.

Awwww. Did ya get some of her at the reception?

Half of my family wandered off to the reception instead of pictures! I was like " Gee thanks, ya alkies" lol

haha yah i got ONE of her at the reception. we're not that close to his family anyways so it was no biggy. its just kinda sad to look back now and realize with all the posed pictures that she isnt there. oh well, her choice! we got one big group picture too which was way awesome. it was of everyone that went to our wedding. its pretty sweet. i sometimes forget that certain people were even there lol.

Well at least you got one! hehe. The group shot does sound neat. I wouldn't have had the patience for that. I was getting tired of pictures after the first 20 minutes :P

i am planning my own wedding... and we are getting married back in Indiana and we are in Florida.. My mom is helping me a little.. but mostly im doing it.. the hardest thing about it is having to call and having my mom go to the places and take pictures and send them to me.. haha obviously i cant go and look at the stuff myself.. lol

but the wedding isnt small but isnt big.. its at my families church which is my old church!!

awww that sucks you cant be there to look at the stuff yourself!
