Hello from Sunny Florida!

Hi! I'm new here! I'm Kim and my DB just started OCS in Newport, Rhode Island! I would love advice on how to not be mopy all day long and wish he was here with me! I have gotten phone calls the past two nights in a row though :) Has anyone had their husbands, boyfriends, fiances go to OCS before? I would love advice from anyone! I'm so happy to join this site!

I got a phone call today, he sounded miserable :( He told me to write him a lot. I've sent him letters almost everyday so far. I'm finding it kind of hard to stay busy! I need to get myself a job!!

hi kim! i would definitely say to stay busy...set some goals for yourself that you want to complete by the time he gets out of ocs. my husband is enlisted but i know that he really appreciated the letters so try to write him as much as possible!

Since I'm done with summer classes right now and I'm not currently employed, I'm trying to find a job. No one wants to hire me! I've been reading a lot of books though... mostly Harry Potter..

I love Harry Potter too!!! The books and the movies!! My favorite is Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire.... I swear I'm not a dork, lol

totally agree. that book was awesome, all the challenges and stuff. its been so long since ive read all the old ones. i bought the 7th one right when it came out, but it was around the same time my hubby was taking off to boot camp so i didnt really want to shove my face in a book and i still havent finished reading it! i feel like a poser harry potter fan.

Lol a poser Harry Potter fan. HAHA. Too funny. You're not a poser fan! I wouldn't of read it either if I was in your situation. But once you finish it we must talk about it! lol. DB's not a fan of Harry Potter even though I've tried. I won't lie, I also like the 4th one because of Cho Chang, lol.

haha you like the little romance between cho and harry? oh my gosh when the book came out scott was driving me crazy because apparently he found some website that had like photocopies of the pages of the book and highlighted the important pages that had all the juicy plot on them so he wanted to tell me SOOO bad what happened and what the ending was and stuff and i was like NO! ive been reading this books since i was in middle school youre not going to ruin it for me. and yah scott thinks its dumb too, he doesnt get it, he just wanted to ruin the surprise for me thats the only reason why he read those pages online.

i dont know...i havent really been a big fan of the movies. i have seen all of them but theyre just so different from the books. i guess not different they just cut out alot of stuff that happens in the books so im always kinda disapointed ya know?

Rachel-I loved Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix. I know what you mean about them not being the same, but they do a pretty good job!

yah they do a good job as far as not straying away from the plot like other movies do that are based on books.
