| My dh and I went out Friday, August 1 to celebrate our 3-year dating anniversary at Olive Garden; which is where we had our first date. We had a wonderful conversation and dinner was yummy. I gave him his gift (which was a new titanium ring to replace his diamond one) and he loved it! He wants to get the diamond one cleaned to look like new and wear it on special occasions since it's nicer than the newer one. He said my gift was going to be on Saturday...Our actual anniversary was Tuesday, August 5 but it was a weekday so we decided to celebrate early. All day I didn't know where we were going until when we went for dinner. We were looking around at the different places and the one hostess at a restaurant was like, "You guys are all dolled up, are you going to see the Phantom show?" So, I was like...."Well, I guess so" LOL She felt all bad for ruining the surprise but I was just surprised that he kept it from me for that long because I normally find out one way or another! He took me to Max New York in downtown San Diego for dinner then (which we ran into on accident), which was recommended to me by another Navy wife so KUDOS to her for picking a nice, romantic restaurant with good food! After dinner, we went to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway...It was my first time seeing the Broadway show and I had never seen the movie either. I thought it was REALLY good so if you haven't seen it, you definitely should! I think we're going to start doing Broadway shows more often because we both like going to them and it was our first time going together. So we had a good 2-year anniversary all-in-all...Time really flies when you're having fun, that's for sure! :) Here is a picture of us before we left on Saturday for the Broadway show: Let me know what you think then, thanks! | |

| You guys look great. I don't want to spoil the story but I bought my husband a titanium ring and we actually switched it because if his finger swells up they can't cut that ring off and he would have to get his finger amputated. You guys look amazing though. Congratulations. | |

| haha, that's so funny. i keep hearing different things. when i went to zales they told me tungsten was the one you can't cut off your finger so i THOUGHT i was buying titanium...well, if you look on the inside of his ring it says tungsten carbide, haha...i'm confused. :x | |

| Okay. I'm a nerd and looked it up. Titanium can be cut but it has to be by some pretty powerful stuff and the tungsten can't be cut but it's made from powder so it's like really fragile and can be like cracked off a finger. It said that the sales were going down for these two materials so they started telling people that it couldn't be cut to get them to buy the other stuff. | |

| haha, that's funny. i started to look it up, too, but couldn't find anything. thanks for letting me know!
when i told my husband about it not being able to be cut off, he's like well if i were to break my finger or something, they would just lube my hand up really good, get me to relax, and it'll come off.
i'm not really concerned about it considering the chances of him breaking THAT finger are 1 in 10....lol

| If you guys get stationed on the East Coast,ever...you need to trek it to NYC.Seeing a Broadway show on the road is okay but it does not compare to the energy or anything of seeing it in NYC.Phantom of the Opera is also the longest running show on Broadway. The whole energy of NY is just great with all the marquees and everything. | |

| yeah, i'm originally from the east coast...pa to be exact. when i was 13 we would do these things called 'alan gilbert trips' where you pay $5. and you take a bus to NYC to see a broadway show and then go to planet hollywood or hard rock cafe afterwards and you get your $5 back for your dinner. so, i have been to a BUNCH of broadway shows in nyc, i've just never seen phantom or any of the other REALLY popular ones....
i saw les miserables, a christmas carol, 42nd street.....i can't really remember the other ones.....all in nyc.
you're right though, nothing compares to the excitement of nyc, except maybe vegas...their shows are pretty good, too.

| You both looked great. That dress is really hot. I'm so glad that you had such a great time at the show. I'd love to see a broadway show again. The only one that I've see is Mamma Mia when they came to Baltimore a couple of years ago and that was great. I've never seen one in NYC though. | |
